What Law Enforcement Officers Need to Know about Human Trafficking

Objectives

After completing this training, law enforcement officers will be able to do the following:

  • Understand essential facts about trafficking and its victims and perpetrators.
  • Identify the dynamics of labor trafficking and sex trafficking.
  • Utilize new skills in investigating the crime of trafficking.
  • Recognize the differences between trafficking and other crimes, such as domestic violence and prostitution.
  • Understand the impact of human trafficking on victims and exercise a trauma-informed approach to interacting with victims.
  • Know how to report human trafficking.
